FIFA 11 Reader Mailbag 10/06/10

I was hoping you could give me some advice on creating space around my opponents box. I can’t seem to maintain possession via skill moves. Any advice would be appreciated. – Jason

Chill out on the skill moves. Use pace control (LT/L2) to keep the ball close. Also use LB/L1 to trigger a teammate run into space. It’s the runs that create the space

Do you know when fifa 11 ultimate team come out? - James

My guess is February.

i realy do not care about who endorses what or that EA has a bigger ad budget to get more customers….nor am i tied to EA or Pro for that matter. I merely want the best game and this year I hear Pro Evo is….I’ll see rather than relly on biased views. Thanks

So EA pay more for rthe stars to endorse it..you thik they do it for free? LOL Does that make it the better game? Do oyu actually play any other games? Or are the blinkers well and truly shaped in EA sports only? I’ll wait and see what people say. I hope the A.I is better in 11 than 10…it’s waste of time palying the computer inFifa as it’s so stupid! – Mark

PES 2010 was the WORST demo I’ve ever played in my life. 2001 arcade soccer at best. FIFA Rules!

Quick question you may be able to answer. When you go into the creation centre it says you have to enter a promo code. The only promo code I have is the online pass code. Can you help me with this? – John

Hi, I am new to this game. I saw your website. It was helpful but the controls in your website are all for Xbox or Ps3. I am playing it on PC so if u can provide tips for PC it will greatly help me. Thank You. – Daryl

I will NEVER offer PC tips because the controls are so damn complicated. Why play FIFA on your PC? Makes no sense and has got to be uncomfortable on your fingers. Hell, typing up text is bad enough.

I play FIFAWC2010….I play some guys online it’s impossible to put two passes together. They always have a man available or their players get back super fast. They seem much faster. I feel as if they have more players on the field, lol. How is this done? On a simpler note how do you jostle for the ball. Guys are always bouncing me off the ball and I can seem to return the favor. – Peter

Jostle is with the Left Stick. Use pace control (LT/L1) to move away from defenders. Don’t be afraid to go backwards instead of forwards all the time.

I’m not sure if you check replies to this email but: is there a good way to defend against the chip shot on break aways? I love it on offense but it seems unstoppable on defense. Thanks! – Tom

You gotta trick your opponent by holding Y/Triangle to charge then double tapping Y/triangle to make your goalie retreat and stay on his line.

Hey, can you tell me how to properly do headers? I cant seem to figure it out. For timing, you press Y or B while its in the air or when you are about to head it? And do you tap it or hold it? Thanks. – YunkMaster

There are two types of headers: passing and attacking. First, get positioning using the left stick. Then Tap B if you’re trying to score or hold B if you’re trying to clear. Remember, tapping keeps the power bar low while holding makes it go higher.
